Our story

  1. Our story in 2024

    Albany Court

2024 has seen us further cement our position as one of the UK’s leading providers of audio visual technology solutions.

We achieved major milestones, including doubling our team size, making a strong impact at the Barcelona Integrated Systems Europe trade show, and being shortlisted as a finalist in the East Midlands Chamber Derbyshire Business Awards in the Excellence in Collaboration category.

We also undertook several community engagement projects by supporting causes for Ukraine, and sending volunteers to work with Derby Kids’ Camp.

It’s been a remarkable year of growth and community engagement and we look forward to building on this into 2025 and beyond.

  2. Growth during the pandemic ... and a move to Ashbourne

    Albany Court

The pandemic had its grip on the world and represented a huge leap forwards for our customers in terms of their use of video.

As Starleaf fell, Zoom and then later MS Teams became the dominant force in the world of video conferencing. With hybrid working becoming an accepted norm for many businesses, our AV tech is now a business critical thing.

A move to a much larger facility in Ashbourne, plus significant growth of the team means we continue to strive forwards into the future.

  3. Support services launched

Support services launched, meaning we can support our customers with all their AV technology issues and help them get the most from the tech.

  4. All aboard the HMS Queen Elizabeth!

    HMS Queen Elizabeth

We were asked by the Royal Navy to put forward a proposal for AV equipment for the launch event of the UKs newest aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth. That is a site survey our team will never forget - our faces must have been a picture when we realised who the event VIP was..!

  5. Video Conferencing origins

    Video Conferencing

A shift away from purely interactive tech and into video conferencing, which was still growing slowly year on year (we all said the tidal wave will come at some point!)

  6. London Olympics 2012

    Video Conferencing

We were chosen by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) in London to supply and install interactive technology in all their offices to help with planning the London 2012 Olympics.
    A truly amazing experience!

  7. Early adopter stage

We took interactive technology into the business market, as we saw many opportunities to help improve collaborative working. During these years we were still in the “early adopter” stage, so we were dealing with some big names in food manufacturing, retail, construction, banking, entertainment, transport and media …. even diamonds!

  8. The 'Becta boom' years

    Interactive Whiteboards

After building our own website and winning a few sales, we became the go-to supplier to many educational colleges across Birmingham. This was during the “Becta boom” years when every classroom demanded an Interactive Whiteboard!

  9. TecInteractive Founded

Malt Shovel Pub - Where it all began

TecInteractive founded in the Malt Shovel Inn in Wirksworth by Tom Bamford & Rich Vine.

    “At the time we had:

    — No customers
    — No contacts
    — No experience of running a business
    — Very little money (we threw in £50 each)

But we did have a strong vision – to help people work smarter using interactive technology”

Excellent service!! We had a new screen and sound system installed in the office for the purpose of hybrid meetings. The guys who came to install the tech were so efficient and helpful – giving me a clear explanation on how to operate going forward. Would highly recommend!
